Requirements:

  • A minimum of two (2) years CNC machine shop experience is preferred
  • Mazatrol experience is preferred
  • Must be able to work 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week, from 6:00am – 4:30pm
  • Must have the ability to work 40 hours a week and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record

Physical Demands

  • In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and regularly stand, reach, and move safely about the facility.

Position Overview

Good Earth Tools is looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual with CNC machine operating experience to join our 2nd shift team of Machinists! The right candidate will have experience using micrometers and reading blueprints, and must be able to work in a fast-paced, lean manufacturing environment. The requirements and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibility of the technician is to diagnose equipment repair needs and perform designated repairs on customer owned machines as directed, on site or in the field. 
  • Perform repairs including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic on production machines. Also includes preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
  • Disassemble and assemble machine components to pre-determined specifications though the use of hand tools, cordless tools, and pneumatic tools.  Fabricate custom components, fixtures, and other devices using typical fabrication methods for experimental as well as production purposes.
  • Occasional use of basic welding and cutting equipment.
  • Setup / Operate conventional and C.N.C. machine tools.
  • Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, engineering drawings, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of machine components using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Interact with the customer to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to ensure project goals are met.

Requirements:

  • Technical or vocational education in Machining Technology preferred.
  • Two to five years’ experience troubleshooting, repairing, and building custom equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic tools and tool usage, including basic welding skills.
  • Mechanical skills and aptitude. 
  • Must be able to travel as needed, including international travel (approximately 30% – 40%)

Position Overview

The Ballast Tools Equipment (BTE) division of Good Earth Tools is experiencing tremendous growth and we are adding teammates to support this growth! If you have a passion for auto repair, diesel mechanics or heavy equipment maintenance and repair this is a great opportunity for you! Our Heavy Equipment Technicians rebuild new machines per specifications as well as diagnosing equipment repair needs and perform designated repairs on company owned machines. This equipment will include excavators and backhoes outfitted for railway maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble and assemble machine components to manufacturer’s specifications through the use of hand tools and pneumatic tools.
  • Perform required troubleshooting and repairs including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics on production machines. Also includes preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep
  • Detection of faults using diagnostic laptop computers, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems: electronics, hydraulics, power train, engines and general machine performance is expected
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Perform necessary maintenance and repairs based on troubleshooting and diagnosis
  • Occasional operation of machine in the determination of repair need or repair assessment may occur
  • Occasional use of basic welding equipment.
  • Research repair needs and order parts as needed

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in heavy equipment repair OR certification from a Technical or vocational education in Heavy Equipment, Diesel or Automotive Technology required
  • Ability to diagnose equipment utilizing laptop computers, gauges, and instruments in all machine systems: electronics, hydraulics, power train, and general machine performance is expected
  • Knowledge of basic tools and tool usage, including basic welding skills

Position Overview

Good Earth Tools is growing and looking for an experienced industrial electrician to add to the team!   This position will provide an advanced level of technical support in all areas of the production facility including, but not limited to, the troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical and electrical problems on various plant equipment as well as electrical installations and repair of existing installations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble and assemble machine components to manufacturer’s specifications through the use of hand tools and pneumatic tools.

  • A two year technical degree in Industrial Electricity, or a closely related degree, is preferred; may be substituted for equivalent work experience
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment and work effectively with all plant associates.
  • Must be self-directed and motivated with a positive attitude, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Has demonstrated the ability to lead, coach, and train individuals on technical competencies 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong collaboration skills are required
  • Must have the ability to work a minimum of 40 hours weekly as scheduled and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record.  Overtime and weekend work may be required for emergencies or special projects

Physical Demands:

The employee is required to stand and walk for long periods of time; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move parts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move parts up to 50 pounds. Position Overview

Good Earth Tools is looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual with metal fabricating experience to join our 1st shift team! The requirements and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, assemble, and weld metal products, specified by work orders, diagrams, and templates using different welding applications.
  • Operate fabrication shop machinery and equipment, read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements per the routing and material list.
  • Understand and safely operate fabricating machines, following instructions and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • May work with the engineering department to troubleshoot part fit and assembly process by adjusting materials and print specifications in order to fabricate final product.
  • Observe proper machine operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction based on company standards and procedures.
  • Inspects first part for quality, accuracy, and functionality by checking product specifications based on following guidelines of shop floor order print/instructions

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • A minimum of one (1) year of metal fabrication experience preferred, or an equal combination of training and experience
  • Must be able to interpret drawings to cut, notch, fit, and weld materials to proper specifications
  • Must be able to work 10 hour shifts, 6:00am-4:30pm Tuesday – Friday
  • Must have the ability to work 40 hours a week and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record

Position Overview

Good Earth Tools, located in Festus, MO, is experiencing tremendous growth in our Ballast Tools Equipment (BTE) division and is adding an energetic Technical Sales and Parts Specialist to the team!  This position will specialize in our heavy equipment division to establish working relationships with internal and external customers through customer service activities such as responding to customer requests, processing purchase orders and handling customer parts and technical inquiries in a courteous and effective manner.  This is an exciting position working with major railroads and contractors providing parts and equipment used for maintaining the railways in the US and internationally.
 
The Technical Sales and Parts Specialist’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Establish a positive rapport with customers by providing professional and courteous technical assistance and project management to meet their needs
  • Regularly communicates with customers to obtain detailed information on product specifications and to acknowledge and provide pricing and availability of parts and services
  • Identifies problems, provides technical assistance, and troubleshoots issues
  • Works closely with field sales representatives to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Communicates with shipping/receiving department on special instructions for packing, loading, transportation arrangements and shipping status of parts orders
  • Schedules and tracks shipments for customers and communicates with transportation companies, while maintaining consistent communication with the customer on the shipment status
  • Monitors inventory levels and proactively communicates with internal team members to ensure future product availability
  • Coordinates customer needs with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of, or desire to learn about, heavy equipment (excavators and backhoes) is a must
  • Exceptional customer support experience and active listening skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Previous experience with high volume phone contact
  • Customer orientation and the ability to adapt/respond to different types of inquiries
  • History of working effectively on a team, and willingness to be cross trained to assist teammates as needed
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively on a daily basis
  • Excellent data entry and computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite are required. Acumatica, or other MRP/ERP, experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficient in basic math
  • A minimum of two years of post-high school education strongly preferred
  • Must have the ability to work 40 hours as scheduled and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record

Work Environment:

This job operates in a clerical, office setting.  There is routine use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, phones, photocopiers, filing systems and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

This is a combination of sedentary position work as well as some moving about the office throughout the day. There will be some lifting of heavy parts, no heavier than UPS regulations. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. This position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periods of time as well as reaching above shoulder heights or below the waist or lifting up to 75 pounds as required to locate parts and or store materials throughout the workday.  Will require walking through a gravel yard with safety glasses, steel toe boots, hard hat and vest to collect equipment related data.

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is strongly preferred
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related experience is preferred
  • Strong base in SolidWorks or related CAD software
  • Strong computer skills with various software including Microsoft Office

The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing disposition for suspect materials, investigating root causes, and implementing corrective actions.  This position will communicate quality metrics and lead continuous improvement activity to assure metrics meet targets and quality objectives are met.  This position will assist engineering and production to assure quality requirements are understood and quality is integrated throughout the processes.  The successful candidate for this position will have previous training and/or experience in quality control, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering or other technical field.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and provide disposition for suspected nonconforming materials identified in receiving inspection, manufacturing processes, and finished goods.
  • Perform and document root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent issue recurrence.  Verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Enter data, analyze trends, create action plans, and implement countermeasures to meet quality targets and objectives.  Coordinate, track, and communicate the KPI performances for quality focused metrics.
  • Perform risk assessments, participate in continuous improvement projects, and implement preventive actions as required.
  • Provide support and technical guidance to quality inspectors as needed to assure timely inspection of incoming, in-process, and finished products.
  • Support engineering and manufacturing with verifying engineering change implementation.
  • Assist engineering with developing inspections and acceptance criteria for parts and products. Participate in the generation of part specific quality plans utilizing customer drawings, CAD Models, and process specifications to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements.
  • Assist engineering with the review and approval of first article submissions.
  • Assist engineering with the analysis of customer warranty returns.
  • Attend Design Reviews and provide feedback regarding potential quality risks.
  • Audit manufacturing shop floor orders for completeness and accuracy. Provide technical and advisory support to the production department.
  • Participate in the ISO9001 audits and documentation of processes to ensure compliance to internal procedures and the ISO9001 standard.
  • Responsible for ensuring all equipment is maintained / calibrated as appropriate.
  • Issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests and review and approve responses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other technical or science related field is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in interpreting blueprints and schematics that include mechanical, welding, hydraulic, electrical, and assembly drawings.  Knowledge of GD&T is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 standards is preferred.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs and willing to learn manufacturing MRP software.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal, written and electronic).
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and be self-motivated.
  • Must be able to lead teams or participate as an integral team member.
  • Must have the ability to work 40 hours a week and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record.
  • Must be proficient in dimensional measurement of parts.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks is preferred.
